Tillamook District Headquarters

Oregon Department of Forestry

PIVOT developed a master plan for the Tillamook District Headquarters of the Oregon Department of Forestry consisting of a site plan, support buildings, and an 18,000-SF administration building. Being the most visible and public building on the site, the administration building needed to reflect the ODF’s role as a leading natural resources agency.

One of the first facilities designed to follow the Oregon's sustainability guidelines, PIVOT lead a team to fully integrate design strategies. The character of the building exemplifies the Northwest style by responding to the unique climate, culture, and materials of the region.

The use of natural second-growth forest products, generous daylight, and protected outdoor spaces enhance this connection. The low maintenance, sustainable site employs bioswales to slow drainage and clean run-off from paved parking areas.
