Good design is what links creativity and innovation. It shapes ideas that become practical and attractive concepts which inform and support a solution to a problem.
Richardson Sports manufactures performance headwear, focusing on embroidered baseball hats. For the designers at PIVOT, this sparked the idea of “stitching,” which is a dominant part of Richardson Sports' products. The concept was also utilized on a smaller scale, from specialized casework for hat displays, to tile patterns, to the façade of the building addition.
The existing building was nondescript but PIVOT seamlessly transformed it into their new headquarters; it required an addition to better connect areas of the building. After the structures were woven into a cohesive architectural design, the generic nature of the existing building was easily forgotten.
