Thousands of people rely on the Eugene Family YMCA. Whether it’s for fitness, healthy living, youth development, or simply a social meeting place, the Y really is a center of the community. Together, PIVOT Architecture and our consultant team, the Eugene Family YMCA, and GRO Development LLC have been designing a contemporary multi-purpose facility that will enable the nonprofit to grow and diversify how it serves the community and have a bright future.
Anchoring the corner of 24th and Hilyard, the new Y building will have a strong northwest urban presence with an abundance of natural daylight and stunning views of Amazon Park and Spencer Butte to the south. The building’s entrance at this prominent intersection will create a pedestrian-friendly plaza which will enliven and support the multi-modes of transportation (cars, buses, bikes, and pedestrians) which travel along this route every day.
The 75,000-SF facility, designed to be a model of sustainability and a promotion of wellness, is slated to open in early 2023.
