PIVOT was tasked with re-envisioning the RapidRide station kit-of-parts. The original components were evaluated from an aesthetic, maintenance, and fabrication standpoint. Multiple design alternatives were developed that retained the strength of the RapidRide brand while enhancing the customer experience and reducing maintenance. PIVOT will assist King County Metro to refine the detailing and fabrication of the new kit-of-parts with a selected shelter manufacturer. The H-Line will be the first corridor to implement these new RapidRide kit-of-parts stations with 28 platforms expected to open in 2020.
