Honoring the past and driving LTD into the future, the Operations Command Center is the engine of the Ops Department—where people, technology, and facility design converge to keep the community moving safely, reliably, and efficiently.
Completed three weeks ahead of schedule, this federally funded remodel and addition transforms an administrative building into a modern transit hub. Operating 22 hours a day and built to essential facility standards, the OCC handles operator dispatch, training, and public safety coordination.
The exterior balances continuity and identity, sharing materials and proportions with existing buildings on the campus while a sloping roof, solar array, and landscaping give the OCC its own character.
Inside, a wellness room, training spaces, and employee lounges reflect LTD's investment in its people. Lounge areas, drawing inspiration from the Three Sisters mountains, offer spaces for connection and retreat. A timeline graphic chronicles LTD's 50-year history, while LED lighting and flooring evoke transit routes and movement.
The dispatch area integrates advanced technology to improve coordination between operations and public safety, and can serve as an incident command center.
Named for Phyllis Loobey, LTD's first female GM, the OCC carries forward a legacy of accessibility, community, and stewardship—built to serve riders, support employees, and keep Lane County moving.
