Addressing two dire needs—affordable housing and child care—Homes for Good's Ollie Court project will provide a critical relief to many in need.
Ollie Court will create multi-generational family living, including 81 units across two buildings, a 12,000-SF early learning center, and a central outdoor living space.
During the project's conceptual stage, PIVOT was instrumental in securing funding and acquiring the land from the City of Eugene in a competitive process. The team then moved into the design phase and engaged in charrettes to unearth the heart behind the project: a connected, inclusive, and safe development.
This later took shape in the interior design with the idea that spaces need not be extravagant to still give a feeling of abundance; a word that was carried out through the woven, textural, durable materials used across the project. This word abundance can be seen in the intentional space planning, clear and identity rich wayfinding, as well as the durable materials specified in the one, two- and three-bed room units.
With the early learning center, the team embraced the idea of the life of a frog on a playful lily pad. The motif can be seen through stamped frog footprints in the outdoor concrete paths, on murals in the early learning center, and fixtures throughout the facility.
The project is expected to open in late 2025.
