Klamath Community College’s vision for building an early-learning / childcare center was to serve the students and staff of the college and to build more capacity to serve the broader community in this crucial need area.
With the Center, KCC aspires to be open for year-round, all-day care. The program will also provide real-world educational opportunities for Early Childhood Education students and support the early childhood development ecosystem in the Klamath Falls Community.
A group of community partners will work with the college to achieve the project goals including the Oregon Childhood Development Coalition, Klamath Family Head Start, and the Klamath Falls YMCA.
A working group explored a number of key issues including, who can commit to being the program operator, with a year-round program accommodating KCC, how might enrollment fluctuating from term to term affect slots, and other issues.
The space program includes:
- 12 Classrooms
- Common Spaces
