Clayton Arrowood, Newly Licensed Architect

Congratulations to Clayton Arrowood, PIVOT Architecture’s newest registered architect!

Clayton began his journey at PIVOT in 2017 has contributed immensely to PIVOT by tackling large transit projects. Clayton gravitates towards transit design because each project is vastly different from the others and require custom details.

“Transit design is all custom. Every station and detail are different and you really have to problem solve to create great designs” Clayton said. “I’m excited to work on more projects that can help increase accessibility for people to get where they need to go.”

Clayton joins the seventeen other registered architects at PIVOT Architecture.

SparkLab Career Expo Connections

There was somewhat of a role reversal using the SparkLab space that we designed for Connected Lane County, the important non-profit that links industry to public schools in the area.

Connecting with area middle school students at the middle school Elevate Career Expo and giving them a taste of design  architecture was invigorating. We showed students some of the ins and outs of the design process and had them try their hand at sketching by either drawing the floor plans to their house or using trace to replicate an elevation of an project we’re working on.

Some students knuckled down immediately and started to draw. Others needed a little nudge to get started, but once they did their attention to detail and sketching ability was fun to watch.
